Inclusion

Malkara School recognises the importance of our students having opportunities to engage with their mainstream peers in structured and recreational activities. Throughout the year a range of inclusion activities are undertaken, including both Malkara students participating in mainstream school programs and students from mainstream schools attending activities at Malkara.

School Walk - with Sts Peter & Paul Primary School

Each week, Malkara students go for a joint walk around the block alongside the lovely students from Sts Peter & Paul Primary School. Our students get to socialise and step out for a moment into the surrounding community and the Sts Peter & Paul students love the time they spend with us.

Marist College - Christian Leadership

Malkara is collaborating with Marist College and its Christian Leadership Program to provide peer support and inclusive learning opportunities for our students. Marist students visit and engage with Malkara students both in the classroom and on the playground.

Dream Cricket

DreamCricket brings a wide range of cricket activities to our students. Dreamcricket volunteers spend a session on the playground with Malkara Students, facilitating and modifying cricket activities to suit each participant. Students gain confidence through active participation in physical activities and social engagement. For more information about the program and its vision, visit the DreamCricket website.

Canteen

The Malkara School Canteen is being run by the wonderful students of The Woden School every Thursday and gives our students an exciting opportunity at peer interaction, social navigation and money-handling skills. More information here.

Many other enriching activities are encouraged and valued as part of each student's school experience:

Some individual students undertake partial attendance at a primary or preschool selected by their parents. These arrangements are supported by Malkara and the Education Directorate, although transport in most cases is the responsibility of the parent/carer.
