Balanced Literacy at Malkara
The Balanced Literacy Model has been introduced and implemented across Malkara Specialist School in 2019. This model has been designed to support the implementation of both the Victorian and Australian Curriculum which is used at Malkara Specialist School. Under this model Emergent and Conventional Literacy students have differentiated Literacy focuses to most effectively meet their individual learning needs and allows teachers to plan for targeting teaching and learning opportunities. Every teacher aims to implement up to two hours of literacy in their daily classroom program.
