External Therapists

EXTERNAL THERAPISTS

Our school welcomes the opportunity to work with the many organisations that support our students and families.  Families and therapists can follow the procedures below to request external therapy visits at Malkara School.

Families

1. Please read the Information Letter for Parents.
2. Please complete Consent to Collect and Disclose Information and External Therapy Visits that was sent home in term 1.

External Allied Health Providers

1. Liaise with family regarding provision of therapy support at school.
2. Email malkara@ed.act.edu.au with details of your request.
3. You will receive information about our induction process and required paperwork. Please complete and return to the school.

School Executive Team

• The school executive team, in partnership with classroom staff, will review requests and therapy goals.
• The outcome of requests for external therapy visits will be communicated via email.  If the request is approved, the school will work with providers to find suitable days and times for visits, ensuring that it is an optimal time for goals to be worked on.
• It is important to note that provision of therapy during school times is at the discretion of the Principal.  School staff will regularly monitor and review the effectiveness of therapy programs.  Following this review process, in consultation with families, changes to therapy provision, including cancellation of the program, may occur.
